Anna Garcia

Anna Garcia has been an active member of the New York’s startup eco-system since 2013 as an angel investor and mentor to three accelerators: ERA, Barclays/Techstars and Canadian Technology Accelerator. Prior to entering venture capital, Anna spent 17 years in financial services and held senior roles at Merrill Lynch, Jefferies and JP Morgan in the areas of capital markets, investment banking and asset management. Anna ran a top-ranked fixed income origination and hedging business at Merrill Lynch during most of her Wall Street career. She left banking to found AGM Ventures and focus on early stage investing and startup advisory full time. Anna’s notable pre-Runway investments include Trumid, Owlet, Primary, Liveoak Technologies, HiFi and Culinary Agents. Staying true to her financial services background, Anna closely follows the developments in fintech as an investor, mentor and advisor.

Anna was born in Russia, lived in England and Denmark and ultimately moved to Canada before commencing her career in NYC. She is a global citizen and loves languages, food and travel. She is a holistic health enthusiast and a hot yoga devotee.
